WotFilm ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the WotFilm mobile application and website.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you create an account or use the app:

Email address — used for account creation, login, and password resets
Display name — chosen by you, shown on your profile
Video URLs — submitted by you for movie detection
Watchlist data — movies and TV shows you save or rate
Device token — used to send push notifications if you enable them
Detection feedback — optional corrections you submit to improve accuracy

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide and improve the movie detection service
To manage your account and watchlist
To send password reset emails
To send push notifications about friend activity (if enabled)
To enforce subscription limits and manage your subscription tier
To monitor and improve detection accuracy

3. Subscriptions & Payments

WotFilm offers an optional paid subscription (WotFilm Pro) that unlocks additional daily detections. Subscription management is handled by RevenueCat and payments are processed by Apple through the App Store.

We do not store your payment card details
Subscription purchases, renewals, and cancellations are handled entirely by Apple
RevenueCat receives anonymised subscription event data to sync your subscription status with our servers
You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time via your Apple ID settings or through the "Manage Subscription" option in the app

4. Third-Party Services

WotFilm uses the following third-party services to operate:

OpenAI (GPT-4o) — video frames are sent to OpenAI's API for movie identification. OpenAI's privacy policy: openai.com/privacy
TMDB (The Movie Database) — used to verify and retrieve movie metadata. TMDB privacy policy: themoviedb.org/privacy-policy

Resend — transactional email delivery (password resets only)

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us or using the delete account feature in the app. Upon deletion, your email, watchlist, detection history, and device tokens are permanently removed from our systems.

6. Push Notifications

If you grant notification permissions, we may send push notifications about friend activity on the app. Your device token is stored securely and used solely for this purpose. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.

7. Children's Privacy

WotFilm is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your data
Object to or restrict processing of your data
